Mining applications

One technical contact across the ground, water and material interfaces.

Kontain is a lean specialist supplier, not the project designer or installation contractor. The value is practical technical review, transparent evidence and direct project supply without pretending one product solves every condition.

01

Tailings facilities & closure

GCLs, drainage geocomposites, protection geotextiles, reinforcement and dewatering concepts reviewed around hydraulic duty, confinement, interfaces and construction sequence.

02

Haul roads & working platforms

Geogrid, woven and composite options screened against subgrade strength, saturation, traffic, aggregate, maintenance access and construction plant.

03

Mine water & containment

Barrier, protection, drainage and filtration layers coordinated around chemistry, head, penetrations, slopes, cover and installation risk.

04

Tailings, sludge & sediment dewatering

Treatability, mass balance, geobag selection, pad layout, stacking, polymer demand, filling controls and water return developed as one system.

05

Underground roof & rib reinforcement

High-tenacity woven PET reinforcement for skin control, rib coverage, pillars and engineered recovery work, subject to mine-specific design and approval.

06

Soft ground & reinforced earth

High-strength PET wovens and uniaxial grids for embankments, walls, load transfer and temporary or permanent mine infrastructure.

From design note to site

The gap is often between an acceptable concept and what gets procured.

Mining work needs conservative technical review, but it also needs blunt commercial and construction reality. The aim is to identify the few issues that materially affect performance, acceptance, cost or programme.

01

Specification basis

Separate mandatory values from preferences, identify incompatible test methods and record anything not demonstrated.

02

Polymer, mineral & durability evidence

Review resin or fibre type, bentonite quality, antioxidant or coating basis, chemical exposure and the evidence behind service claims.

03

Interfaces & connections

Check shear, friction, transmissivity, seams, overlaps, welds, anchors, penetrations and transitions between packages.

04

MQC, MQA & traceability

Set practical lot testing, certificates, independent checks and delivery records proportionate to the consequence of non-conformance.

05

Remote construction

Plan roll dimensions, container utilisation, unloading, storage, weather exposure, plant access and installation sequence before dispatch.

06

Commercial qualification

Price the compliant basis, state exclusions and alternatives clearly, and avoid hiding a technical departure inside a lower rate.

WA & remote mining works

Freight and supplied format are part of the engineering conversation.

Container utilisation, roll width and length, production slots, port selection, unloading, storage, weather exposure, site access and delivery sequence can materially change installed cost. Those decisions should be made with the technical selection—not after it.

Technical resources

Use the detailed material to start a better project discussion.

Kontain's tools and articles are open where practical. Secured geobag tools are provided free to approved project users.
