Stormwater tank resources for specifiers and estimators.
For underground on-site detention (OSD) and water-storage systems, use the current documents below, then send the drainage drawings for a project-specific material schedule. The installation guide includes typical interfaces; the agreed project drawings govern construction.
Agree the design and supply responsibilities
Kontain provides product selection, preliminary layouts, material quantities and technical submissions within the agreed scope. A full package can include tank supply, module assembly and installation, and liner installation. The appointed hydraulic, structural and geotechnical designers confirm the complete project design and approvals.
- Hydraulic design: storage, operating levels, outlet controls, overflow and any reuse water balance.
- Structural and geotechnical design: variant, loading, cover, stack, foundation, settlement and groundwater.
- Supply and installation: module and accessory schedule, wrap, pipe boots, QA, site controls and commissioning.
Typical details and project drawings
Review the installation guide for bedding, wrapping, internal pits, pipe interfaces, ventilation and maintenance provisions. For a project drawing package, provide the site plan, sections, levels, pipe sizes, loading and required deliverables. Drawing format, design responsibility and review scope are agreed before issue.
Product evidence and warranty information
The product page identifies the tests available for the virgin V60 specimens and the evidence boundaries for recycled variants. Obtain the applicable batch documentation and project acceptance requirements before ordering. Request the proposed warranty terms with the quotation so duration, coverage, exclusions and the claims process can be reviewed before purchase.
What to include in the tender brief
The tender package should let every supplier price the same storage function and interfaces. Use the following checklist with the drawings.
- Required net capacity, operating levels and discharge or reuse duty.
- Available footprint, finished level, pipe inverts and allowable excavation.
- Traffic, design life, groundwater, foundations and allowable deformation.
- Pretreatment, pits, pipe supports, liners, boots, vents and maintenance access.
- Supply boundaries, delivery location, installation scope and programme.
- Technical submissions, design review, QA records and warranty terms required.
Practical questions
Is the public pack a certified design?
No. It provides product information, typical details and a tender checklist. The final tank and site works need the appointed designers’ project-specific verification and approved documents.
Can the pack support an alternative-product submission?
Yes. Use it with a schedule of the specified requirements, supporting evidence and declared departures. Acceptance remains with the authorised project reviewer.
The printable checklist complements the controlled PDFs below. Project drawings and issued order documents govern the work.
