Kontain works with designers, contractors and asset owners in Australia and internationally. Led by Ben Lewis, MIEAust CPEng NER APEC Engineer IntPE(Aus), we develop material specifications, design input, testing plans and practical support around the project requirements.
Specification and data review
Compare requirements with published data, identify departures and separate meaningful evidence from catalogue noise.
Preliminary calculations
Provide transparent screening for cushions, drainage, leakage, wind uplift, veneer stability, reinforced soil and tank geometry.
Simple details and schedules
Prepare concept-level sections, product schedules, roll planning and construction notes to help the team coordinate supply.
Testing and conformance
Agree sampling, test methods and acceptance criteria; coordinate suitable independent laboratories; and review material conformance, compatibility, interface shear, cushion or dewatering trial results against the specification.
Construction support
Provide installation guidance, prestart input, hold points, rapid clarification and site attendance where it materially reduces risk.
Testing and technical consultancy
Agree what needs to be demonstrated.
Material testing and site trials are planned around the decision they need to support. Kontain coordinates external laboratories, reviews the relevant accreditation scope and keeps sample identity and acceptance criteria connected to the results.
For dewatering, a separate consultancy scope can include pad preparation, filling methodology, dosing trials and adjustment, filling checks and maintenance planning. Site attendance, laboratory charges, deliverables and fees are agreed for each engagement.
Engineering work is limited to the agreed competent scope and relevant jurisdictional requirements, with the appointed project engineer and local specialists involved where required.
