Transparent design & supply · Australia-wide

A clear specification, then a transparent supply offer.

Kontain can prepare the material specification and project supply basis together. Our commercial interest is stated, the agreed margin or fee basis is made clear upfront, and performance requirements can still allow genuine competition.

Two ways to engage

Match the technical scope to the supply pathway.

The geobag model is deliberately supply-led. Other geosynthetic packages can be structured around a full material specification and a separately stated supply offer.

01 · GEOBAG SYSTEMS

Design and planning included with supply.

Kontain prepares the agreed civil specification, drawings, pad and drainage layout, bag sizing, stack planning and modelling where needed. No separate design fee is added when Kontain supplies the geobags, liner and associated materials.

  • Supply-attached technical scope
  • Clear operator and performance boundaries
  • Geobag, liner and accessory package

02 · OTHER GEOSYNTHETIC PACKAGES

Material specification followed by a disclosed supply offer.

For a small mine, owner-managed site or project without an established geosynthetic specialist, Kontain can define the performance requirements, prepare a material schedule and then offer compliant project supply.

  • Performance-based requirements where practical
  • Commercial position stated before procurement
  • Alternatives assessed against common evidence

Competition and transparency

Supply involvement should be visible from the start.

Kontain encourages evidence-based competition where it suits the project. A material specification can set minimum performance, testing and QA requirements without quietly locking the project to one brand.

01Commercial interest

We state when Kontain intends to quote and supply.

02Margin or fee basis

The agreed commercial basis is disclosed upfront.

03Assessment criteria

Products are compared against named evidence and project conditions.

04Departures

Material differences, limitations and unresolved inputs remain visible.

From site need to supplied material

A specification that remains connected to delivery.

Kontain's role is to make the required product, evidence and interfaces clear enough that the site can make an informed procurement decision.

01

Define the required function

State the separation, filtration, drainage, reinforcement, containment, protection or dewatering outcome before naming a product.

02

Prepare the material requirements

Set relevant properties, test methods, directions, durability, geometry, interfaces, QA evidence and permitted qualifications.

03

Make alternatives assessable

Use performance-based criteria where practical so genuine alternatives can be compared on the same evidence rather than excluded by a brand name.

04

State the commercial position

Disclose where Kontain intends to supply, explain the supply basis and agree any margin or fee structure before the order.

05

Connect supply and accountability

Coordinate manufacture, documentation, freight, warranty route and site support through the Australian contracting supplier.

For smaller mines and site owners

A local supply counterparty around an overseas manufacturing chain.

Direct importing can leave the purchaser carrying product selection, production follow-up, shipping, documentation, claims and site-interface risk. Under Kontain's supply model, those interfaces are managed through the Australian contracting supplier rather than left for the site owner to coordinate alone.

Product documentation, any offered manufacturer warranty, local support and commercial limitations are defined in the project quotation. Warranty and insurance terms are project- and policy-specific; Kontain does not make a blanket promise beyond the accepted supply terms.

What this model does—and does not do

Better inputs and products reduce risk. They do not erase site responsibility.

  • Kontain's technical input is limited to the agreed scope and available project data.
  • The appointed designer, principal, contractor and operator retain their responsibilities.
  • Manufacturing conformance does not guarantee installed or operating performance.
  • Testing, hold points and field controls are identified where they materially affect the outcome.
