Research library accounts

Free access, with clear account data use.

When you request a research library account, Kontain uses your email to send a one-time access code through Microsoft Outlook. After verification, Kontain stores your email, account creation and last activity dates, and which papers you access through the library. This information manages access and helps Kontain understand library use. Joining does not subscribe you to marketing emails.

A secure, essential session cookie keeps you signed in for up to 30 days. Access codes expire after 10 minutes and are stored as keyed hashes. Temporary rate-limit records help prevent misuse; raw IP addresses are not retained in the research account database.

Research account and access records are stored in the website’s Cloudflare database. Kontain’s owner can view the private register and export member details. Access history older than 12 months and accounts inactive for more than 24 months are removed during routine library access processing. Records may persist until the next processing request; service-provider backup retention may differ.

You can sign out or delete your research account and its access history from the library’s Account menu. For questions about records, backups or provider logs, contact Ben using the details below. Other enquiries and business records are handled separately under this policy.

1 · Enquiries and contact data

Information is received only when you choose to send it.

The project enquiry and stormwater tank forms send your details and selected files to Kontain’s private enquiry inbox when you submit them. Forms labelled as preparing an email and tool-access requests open your email application; Kontain receives those details only when you send that email. Information you send may include your name, company, contact details, project location, specification, quantities, drawings and technical questions.

Kontain uses this information to respond, prepare technical and commercial offers, support project delivery, maintain business records and meet legal or tax obligations. It is retained only for as long as reasonably required for those purposes.

2 · Optional analytics

Google Analytics respects your storage choice.

The Google tag loads with analytics storage denied unless you have previously allowed analytics cookies. While storage is denied, Google Consent Mode may send cookieless consent and measurement signals. If you allow analytics cookies, the site also sends page views and selected interactions to Google Analytics 4 using measurement ID G-2QS183M56R.

Measurement can include viewed pages, approximate location, device and browser information, referral source, technical-document downloads, contact-link clicks and the start or preparation of quote workflows, successful project and stormwater tank submissions and whether drawings were included.

Names, email addresses, phone numbers, free-text project descriptions and other form contents are not intentionally sent to Google Analytics. Advertising storage, Google signals and ad personalisation are disabled in the site configuration.

Google may process analytics data outside Australia under its own privacy and security terms. You can decline analytics when first visiting the site or change your choice below.

3 · Anonymous traffic measurement

Basic site visits are counted without tracking people.

Cloudflare Web Analytics is always active to provide aggregate traffic information such as visits, page views, referral sources, approximate country, device type, browser and website performance. It does not use cookies, local storage or fingerprinting to identify or follow individual visitors.

Kontain also keeps its own aggregate counts of page views, link clicks, referral domains and approximate country, region and city across this site, Dry Stacked Tailings and WorkSiteAI. This measurement uses no cookies, browser storage, fingerprinting or visitor profiles. It does not collect names, emails, form contents, full IP addresses or URL query strings. Browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals stop this additional measurement. Temporary random event references prevent duplicate counts, have a one-day expiry and are removed on the next traffic request. They can remain longer during inactivity. They identify an individual event rather than a visitor.

Weekly reports use these aggregate counts. Page views are not a count of distinct people or sessions, locations are estimates, and a contact-link click does not prove an enquiry was sent. Optional Google cookies and Cloudflare's aggregate count have separate controls. Research-member and submitted-enquiry records remain separate from anonymous traffic; the owner may include the supplied email and recorded access or enquiry in a private activity report.

4 · Sharing and security

Project information is used for the requested work.

Kontain may share relevant information with manufacturers, freight providers, laboratories, technical advisers or other delivery partners where reasonably necessary to price, verify or deliver the requested scope. Information is not sold as a marketing database. Submitted project and stormwater tank records and files are stored through the website’s hosting services, including Cloudflare database and object storage. Hosting providers may process information outside Australia. Drawings are not published or made available through public download links.

Reasonable administrative and technical controls are used to protect business information. No internet or email system can be guaranteed completely secure, so highly sensitive information should be discussed before transmission.
