The specialist package
We work alongside the contractor's design team. Our focus is how the liner or dewatering system meets the ground, civil works, plant and operating requirements—not a standalone sign-off on the whole facility.
Plan the bags and the pad as one system, with a practical pathway for filling, filtrate collection and access.
Develop a liner package against the site's design criteria, ground information and proposed civil geometry.
Develop the liner and its construction interfaces as a defined part of a dam design led by the appointed dam engineer.
Defined responsibility
We can review supplied survey, investigation and laboratory results and apply them within our agreed liner or platform scope. If an input is missing, we identify the gap before a construction issue.
Liner and geosynthetic selection; platform or liner geometry; details and material specifications; take-offs; installation and QA requirements; and related material supply, as set out in the proposal.
Survey and set-out; site investigation and foundation suitability; embankment stability; hydrology and water balance; permits and environmental criteria; and overall dam or facility design and certification sit with the appointed specialists.
Concept layouts can start with limited information. Site coordinates, design levels and cut-and-fill geometry require verified survey and civil design inputs. Construction drawings need review by the responsible design team. A contractor submission does not remove the responsibilities attached to our own technical work.
From tender to delivery
CAD drawing support applies to all three packages. Plans, sections, profiles and construction details are issued in DWG and PDF where included in the agreed scope. Geometry and quantities are checked against the project inputs by the responsible design team.
Identify the design lead, Kontain's scope, required inputs, deliverables and any registration or independent review requirements.
Prepare options, CAD layouts, details, calculations, specifications and material take-offs to the agreed stage.
Resolve interfaces with the contractor and its geotechnical, civil, hydraulic and environmental specialists.
Confirm the accepted material schedule, manufacture and delivery, then provide agreed field clarifications.
How we work with your team
The contractor can assemble and issue the coordinated package under its own project documentation. Kontain's contribution, assumptions, revisions and review responsibilities remain recorded. The lead designer resolves the interfaces before drawings are released for construction.
For Kontainer™ projects, the agreed geobag planning scope is included when we supply the geobags, liner and associated materials. Broader or independent design work is priced to its actual scope and review requirements.
