Experimental study of seepage-scour failure in geotextile tubes gap with damaged vertical sidewall
Original research · free full-paper access · authors credited
Research overview
Laboratory tests varied hole radius, sand gradation, channel flow and hydraulic gradient to examine sand loss through a damaged geotextile-tube sidewall. Larger damage and faster flow reduced the critical gradient for initial erosion, while the well-graded sand resisted failure better; the apparatus represents a simplified gap and damaged wall rather than a complete field tube or stack.
