Shear Behavior of GMTC/BPC-GCL Interface Under Dry and Hydrated Conditions with Varying Polymer Content
Original research · free full-paper access · authors credited
Research overview
Large direct-shear tests compare a textured HDPE geomembrane against conventional and polymer-modified GCLs in dry and hydrated states. Hydration reduced interface strength, and the 3.5% polymer formulation performed better than the 5.5% formulation under the tested conditions; the proprietary polymer, selected materials and laboratory stress range limit transfer to other liner systems.
