Research overview

Large direct-shear tests compare single interfaces with a multilayer soil/geotextile/geomembrane/GCL liner stack. For the tested materials, single-interface peak and large-displacement strengths were generally lower, while multilayer tests better represented stress transfer; neither configuration alone covers all materials and field conditions. AKS Liner and Kaytech donated specimens but have no author in the paper.
