GCL-H · TECHNICAL DATA · DRAFT R01
Kontain GCL Heavy
A reinforced carrier with an additional nonwoven layer for more demanding installation conditions and assessed granular-fill contact.
Available with 3,700 or 4,000 g/m² dry bentonite. The reference schedule below is the 4,000 g/m² construction; confirm a separate schedule for the 3,700 g/m² option.
Reference specification.
This reference schedule concerns the 4,000 g/m² composite-base construction. The tensile test method and reporting units require confirmation before a tensile acceptance value is issued. Do not transfer another grade’s test results to this product.

| Hydrated peak internal shear at 10 kPa normal stress | ASTM D6243 | ≥35 kPa |
Review the full TDS for the construction, tolerances, test conditions and supply requirements. These values are not a statement of lot-specific conformance.
Selection and installation.
Direct crushed aggregate up to 25 mm can be considered where the actual grade, aggregate chemistry and placement method are accepted. Exclude lime-treated material and unverified limestone or carbonate-bearing fill. Assess puncture and placement; keep plant off exposed GCL. The composite carrier is not permission for unlimited rock size or an automatic slope rating.
Common rolls are 5 m × 30 m (150 m² gross). Custom dimensions, bentonite masses and plastic or steel cores are available by order. Confirm gross roll mass and clear core bore before lifting.
Provide the liner section, contact-soil grading and chemistry, liquid analysis, slope, loading, installation method and delivery requirements.
